St Mel Church

St. Mel Parish will once again be raising money for new windows in the school building. The project is estimated to cost $370,000. From our fundraising efforts last year, plus generous gifts from the estates of some parishioners who have gone home to eternal life, we so far have $162,000 raised solely for this project. The more funds we raise, the less the burden is on our parish savings and the more secure our future becomes!

As a reminder, we are replacing the existing, deteriorated windows in the school building, many of which are the originals from 1949. It will be a wonderful improvement for the school, and an absolutely needed improvement! Some of the current windows are in such poor condition that they do not open properly, allow cold air into the building in the winter, and do not keep the cooled air in the classrooms during the summer / fall months. Safety is another major reason for replacing the windows! It is our job to keep everyone using the building as safe as possible while on our property. The teachers and students will be so appreciative to enjoy the benefits of the very generous donations of the St. Mel parishioners!
