St. Tammany Art Association

A nonprofit organization

The mission of the St. Tammany Art Association is to provide quality programming and cultural enrichment to the community, support established artists, promote emerging artists, produce educational arts related activities for adults and children and in doing so enhance life in St. Tammany Parish.

STAA is a catalyst for the arts on the Northshore. It is the only arts organization in St. Tammany Parish sponsoring such diverse programming in its galleries and classrooms and on the streets and sidewalks of Historic Downtown Covington. We support approximately 500 arts professionals and enrich the quality of life and stimulate the economy of the Parish. STAA sponsors a new St. Tammany Art and Artist Directory for our artist members. During 2020, we will impact the community by serving approximately 10,000 residents of Saint Tammany Parish and visitors to the Northshore. The cornerstone of our activity is the historic Art House, built in 1858, and located on North Columbia Street.

A primary goal of STAA is to provide exceptional quality arts education to our Northshore community and offer unique educational experiences for school-age children. Each year, we offer children ages 7-17 classes in our summer Kids Fingerprints Program, Young Adults Studio, Pottery Camps.

Testimonials

"They have a beautiful gallery. However, it's their workshops that make the St. Tammany Art Association stand out. Small class sizes with patient and thorough instructors. Their pottery wheel class was especially good."
