(Inactive) Society of St. Vincent dePaul, Immaculate Conception Conference

A nonprofit organization

Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul. The Immaculate Conception Conference in Tyler operates a food pantry and clothes closet to help the poor and needy in this area.

The Immaculate Conception Conference operates a food pantry at 410 S College in Tyler that served over 4,500 poor and needy families including over 17,000 family members last year. The conference also operates the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at 500 S Vine in Tyler that sells generously donated items for the benefit of the conference activities. Those activities include providing groceries, clothing and limited financial assistance, plus conducting a cooking and nutrition class and providing fans, blankets and school supplies at specific times of the year. The limited financial assistance goes to the poorest of the poor and is primarily used for partial utilities payments, but also medicines, emergency shelter and travel, and funerals. The conference relies entirely on donations plus the proceeds from its Thrift Store. Please "Help Us Help Others" by donating items to the Thrift Store for sale, or by making a financial donation on Giving Day. SSVdP is a nonprofit 501c3 tax exempt organization.
