Our Mission is to promote social, mental, and emotional health through physical activity and community engagement

What we do

State Climb is a community hub in downtown Culpeper where everyone can come and participate in indoor rock climbing, aerial silks classes, and other community events. 

Exercise and community are paramount preventative medicines for both physical and mental health, and we believe they should be open to everyone!  

That’s why we provide everyone with access to community, physical activity, and mental stimulation, in a safe and welcoming environment.

We invite everyone to come in, challenge themselves physically and mentally, step out and meet someone new, and give us and your neighbors the pleasure of knowing you. 

We offer Pay What You Like pricing every Friday so that everyone has a chance to try climbing and aerial arts.  We also offer scholarships for our camps and special events!  We understand that those who have the least time and money already face the tallest barriers to becoming involved in community and recreation and we endeavor to make sure everyone is able to become involved.

How we fund our work

Many hands make light..er work! We are truly run on community love and participation! We rely heavily on volunteers to keep things running smooth and keeping the gym and our programs accessible to the community.  This includes volunteers giving time, money, and their dedicated involvement.  Much of our funding, about 2/3rds comes from our participants who join as members or buy day passes and take classes at the gym. The rest comes from grants and donations from the community!
