Steeple Square

Steeple Square's vision of revitalization and innovative partnerships is making a significant impact in Dubuque's Washington Neighborhood. The campus vision includes:

- Revitalization of the former church into a vibrant community center, event center, and arts/culture space.
-Transformation of the lower level of the former church into a vocational training and education space in partnership with NICC, Four Mounds Foundation and Heritage Works Dubuque.
- Restoration of the former Jackson Street School, providing 12 affordable apartments with 8 of these serving as permanent supportive housing for graduates of the Maria House and Theresa Shelter.
-Restoration of the former rectory into a critically-needed childcare center that we now call the Marita Theisen Childcare Center.
-Transformation of the campus into a safe, bright, beautiful space with green space, trees and a park

This project will restore a sense of community identity to one of Dubuque's most disconnected neighborhoods and enable the campus to reclaim its role as a center of community support.
