Steps 4 Life Community Services

Cynthia McGuigan, founder of Steps 4 Life Community Services Transitional Housing Program. My goal and desire is to help end homelessness and other struggles that plague the lives of so many. Our goal is to provide safe stable healthy housing for individuals to grow. I understand the feeling of hopelessness and despair  having to struggle myself.  My son and I had to overcome homelessness in 1998. I knew there had to be a way to help change the barrier after treatment. So I started working in the field of substance abuse in 2000. Then it came to me to open  a home for women and children  & men that are being affected by homelessness, addiction and mental health struggles and families that needed a place that allowed you the opportunity to get your life on track no matter what your struggle is. I wanted to be able to provide a environment that was conducive to support change one steps at a time. My dreams became true in 2001. Our agency has been serving residents in the Central Valley Region of San Bernardino County ( Redlands)  for over 19 years. Then in 2011 we became a non profit. We inspire and promote self-empowerment, personal growth, and healthy choices by providing individuals with access to stable housing safe living homes  access to  mental health/trauma groups, Referals to parenting classes, substance abuse education, self help groups, and individual Case Management. We also assist with the needed support and tools to become productive members of society and becoming self-sufficient
