Still Waters Equestrian Academy

We named the ranch Still Waters because of Psalm 23, “He leads me beside still waters…He restores my soul.”

We feel God has used horses and Still Waters to restore our souls after the sudden loss of our 23 year old son, just four months prior to our move to Nebraska. For the last 10 years our mission has been to share that restoration with others.

Through this mission of sharing everything that horses offer with anyone, regardless of age, income or ability, Still Waters has developed an educational program that provides lessons for all ages, summer camps and a new therapeutic riding center for individuals with disabilities.  

The Morning Star Riding Center plans to offer hippotherapy and therapeutic riding.  Hippotherapy refers to the use of the movement of the horse as a treatment strategy by physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech/language pathologists to address impairments, functional limitations and disabilities in patients with neuromotor and sensory dysfunction.  Therapeutic riding is an equine-assisted activity for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of individuals with special needs.  

Still Waters has an active Scholarship program that helps us share God's gift of horses to kids that love horses and whose parents' budget (for a multitude of reasons) has no room for a horse or horse lessons or summer camp in their budget.
