St. Mary's Food Bank

St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance has a special history as the world's first food bank. Founded in 1967 by John van Hengel, St. Mary's has grown to be one of the world's largest food banks, serving two-thirds of Arizona's counties through partnerships with over 300 hunger-relief agencies. We distribute food for over 250,000 meals per day - about 6 million pounds of food per month!

Your help is incredibly important to our mission and impact. Every dollar donated helps us provide food for 7 meals!

That food is truly going to people who need it. People like Alberto, a senior citizen and World War II veteran who lives in a Phoenix senior community but does not get enough money to buy food. While his pension and Social Security provide enough to pay rent, he is often left with no money for food. At St. Mary's, we see hundreds of people each day who need assistance and we are always happy to help.
