Stocks in the Future

Every day, SIF motivates kids to attend school, be ready to learn and improve their grades. We've accomplished this by developing a curriculum that teaches students financial literacy skills, with a focus on basic financial skills as well as investing. This year, SIF will reach more than 1,000 at-risk middle school students throughout the Baltimore-Washington area.

While learning these skills each week, Stocks in the Future students receive incentives, one being a "SIF Dollar" for improvement in attendance & grades. These dollars are used to purchase shares of publicly-traded companies that become theirs when claimed after high school graduation and turning 18. Students have the opportunity to learn real life skills while receiving encouragement to stay in school.
