St. Paul’s Community Food Pantry began over 7 years ago to provide emergency food to those who are in need; in the greater Reno/Sparks area. Open once a week, we offered individuals and families once a month a three-day food supply.  The economic crises of the last have increased the number of those who are in need; we fed 30,909 people in 2012.  Many of those served have never had to seek assistance before, reflecting the burden of the lack of jobs, and rising cost of food and housing.  Since its inception the food pantry has grown through the dedicated service of its volunteers who log over 5000 total volunteer hours, we have no paid staff. St. Paul’s Community Food Pantry receives its food through a partnership with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, contributions from local grocery stores and generous donations from individuals and families. Open Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 1135 12th Street Sparks Nevada- Behind the Sparks Library. For information on how to donate or volunteer, please call 775- 391-0482
