 Stray Central...a cat rescue turned sanctuary for special needs cats! 

Being in rescue since 1983 and as a retired vet tech, I kept seeing one segment of the rescue population that always had a very bleak future - "unadoptable" cats.  Those with problems so severe they're usually surrendered to shelters, taken to vets to be put down, or even worse, just dumped. There was a drastic need for places where these cats could happily live out their lives.  So, over time, Stray Central shifted our focus from being an active rescuer to providing a loving, life-long home for these special needs unadoptables.

As a cat sanctuary, we’re a devoted refuge where cats with severe medical, emotional, and/or behavioral problems can spend their remaining days with love, understanding, and without the threat of euthanasia.  Our sanctuary residents are special needs cats which means added expenses for extended vet care, specialized medications, specific foods, dietary supplements, and sometimes veterinary specialists to make their lives as healthy and happy as possible. They rely on donations from caring, animal-loving folks like you to make all this happen for them.
