Street Widows Foundation

Street Widow /strEEt widō/ :  A person who has experienced the painful, often stigmatized, loss of a loved one caused by societal issues such as gun violence, police brutality, substance use disorder, long-term incarceration, sex trafficking, and other street-related issues.

Our Mission:

Street Widows Foundation aspires to dismantle the stigma surrounding street-related death and grief. We envision a future where street-widowed women and men find immediate support through emergency resources and safe spaces to seek healing and empowerment. We aim to build a future where every child being raised by a street widow reaches their full potential as a result of their parent/guardian being supported along the unique journey of life after a traumatic and violent loss.
