As one of the oldest USA Swimming registered clubs, the Suburban Seahawks Club is a parent owned and operated organization, registered as a 501(c) 3 non-profit: the age-group team, swim school and facility are managed by a small staff and overseen by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. As part of a small percentage of swim teams who own their own facility we face a lot of costs including the upkeep of our aging building.
Suburban has been a part of Delaware County for over 70 years and continues to see generation after generation come back to learn to swim. We have produced Olympic medalist and National swimmers. In any given year we service over 2,000 swimmers in the tristate area through instruction, competition and community programs. We provide community lap swimming hours during the week for our senior citizen population. For some of this population, being able to swim in our large pool or using our warm pool to walk are their only form of exercise they are permitted. Our smaller two lane pool has lessons for ages infant to 85 years old seven days a week. Suburban also has a population of swimmers who compete in open water swimming.
These life skills of swimming serve families all over Delaware County. Lifeguards who are trained at our facility are educated and serve all over the tristate area. You can even find some at your vacation towns at the shore. Please consider helping us continue our mission. Thank you in advance for supporting the Suburban Seahawks Club.
