Sudan Rebirth Ministry

Sudan Rebirth Ministry supports the education of South Sudanese students, including those in South Sudan and those living as expatriates in other countries. We provide full educational scholarships for students from early childhood through graduate school.  Founded 15 years ago by a "Lost Boy of Sudan" and former Lancaster resident Jacob Thon Guot, we have supported the education of dozens of vulnerable students who have been affected by the loss of parents or family members due to civil conflicts. We delight to serve primary, secondary and university students who are passionate about their education and want to contribute and make a difference in the culture, well being, and prosperity of their young nation, the Republic of South Sudan.  We change lives in Lancaster by broadening the understanding of our friends and donors, informing them about the students we support, and connecting them thoughtfully to the country of South Sudan and the culture of East Africa.

Who We Are

Sudan Rebirth Ministry provides full scholarships for South Sudanese students of all ages in Kenya, Uganda, and South Sudan. Because public education is rare or non-existent, we use on-site Community Coordinators to work with single parents , orphans, and those with guardians to place them in quality private schools. Our scholarships follow students through grade levels and change their lives forever.
We raise funds through an annual event, ongoing sponsors, other donors, and - beginning 2019 - Lancaster's Extraordinary Give.
Our events and communications change the lives of donors and interested persons by introducing them to the world's newest democracy (South Sudan) and the challenges of culture and education in east Africa. In 2019, our annual fund-raising event includes His Excellency Ambassador Philip Jada Natana, the Ambassador from the Republic of South Sudan to the USA.
