Sugar House Community Council

The Sugar House Community Council has been around since the 1970s. We are often confused with city government, but we are not. The SHCC is a nonprofit entity and is all volunteer run. We give our time because we love where we live. We have never had paid staff so this is a labor of love.

The goal of the SHCC is to help our neighbors participate in the public process with Salt Lake City and we work hard to provide accurate information for people to make decisions. We give lots of feedback to the city on everything from wider sidewalks to streetlights to big developments to park playgrounds. 

Many of us chose to get involved because one issue spurred us on. Yet, the majority of us stay because we know all our voices matter.

We also support our local businesses. We work with the Sugar House Chamber to highlight all the great stores and annual events. Check our "Keeping It Local" videos and "Fun" video to see all the great things within the Sugar House community.
