Summit County Clubhouse (SCC) provides support & community for people with substance abuse and mental health challenges.  We help members live connected and satisfying lives through productive work, meaningful relationships and direct assistance with employment, education & housing

"Clubhouse offers practical solutions, step-by-step guidance and connections to a caring community.  It's a place to belong, where you’re allowed to be honest about your struggles instead of being embarrassed by them."  - Kristi

How Clubhouse Works

WORK-BASED RECOVERY - Members and staff work side by side to manage the Clubhouse in a team approach based on mutual respect.   Members who build confidence and skills at Clubhouse transition back into the workforce sooner and stay employed for longer.

SOCIAL CONNECTION - Members develop relationships during evening & weekend events such as concerts, bowling, game nights, BBQ's and more.  Holidays are celebrated on the day on which they fall - often a difficult time for people living with mental health challenges.

DIRECT SUPPORT  - Clubhouse provides direct assistance with EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT and HOUSING.  Through our Emergency Fund, we are able to step in when financial emergencies may otherwise lead to relapse or homelessness.

Outcomes

Low Hospitalization Rates:  7% of active members required ER or inpatient treatment for their illness in 2024.

High Employment Rates:  62% employment rate, versus the 20% national average for adults diagnosed with mental illness.

Reduction in Homelessness:  8 unhoused members placed in transitional housing units to date in 2024.

Growth in Impact: 42% increase in demand for Clubhouse services since January.

Cost Effective Treatment: One year of holistic Clubhouse services for the same cost as a 2-week psychiatric hospital stay.
