Sunnyvale Community Services (SCS) prevents homelessness and hunger in Silicon Valley’s second-largest city. We help families and individuals stay housed and fed after a job loss, a reduction in work hours, or an unexpected medical expense.  SCS was founded in 1970 to connect low-income local residents to essential programs and services. More than 50 years later, we help over 10,000 people each year with financial aid, food, and/or other emergency support.

Our core programs include:

• Emergency financial assistance to help with rent and rental deposits, utilities, car repairs, medical bills, and other urgent needs

• Case management for those needing longer-term help to achieve self-sufficiency

• Food programs, including home-delivered food for homebound seniors and disabled persons, snack pantries at local schools, extra food for students and families during the summer when schools are closed, and ready-to-eat food for those experiencing homelessness

• Seasonal programs for children and families before the new school year and during the winter holidays

SCS has received the top 4-Star rating from Charity Navigator for 10 years in a row, and we have earned a Platinum Seal from GuideStar for our organizational transparency.

Your gift helps us stabilize the lives of our low-income neighbors. Thank you!
