Generation Hope

A nonprofit organization

About Us:

Generation Hope is a nonprofit providing direct support and national advocacy and research for student parents in college. Since 2010, we’ve ensured that young parents have the resources and community they need to earn their degrees and create brighter futures for their children.

In 2025, we celebrate our 15th Anniversary—15 years of rewriting what’s possible for families through college success, systems change, and intergenerational impact.

We are a Black-led organization, and race equity is at the core of our mission. Every year, more than 200 Generation Hope Scholars are earning their degrees, building careers, and showing their children what’s possible. Our two-generation approach ensures that when parents succeed, their children thrive too.

Who We Serve:

  • 85% are women of color

  • 54% identify as Black or African American

  • 27% identify as Latinx/Hispanic

Why Now

Parenting students face steep challenges: the high cost of tuition and childcare, limited financial aid, and policies that overlook their needs. Recent federal budget cuts make their path even harder.

Your Impact

With your help, Generation Hope has already supported over 240 degrees earned and provided more than $1.5 million in tuition assistance. But our Scholars are facing increased barriers to their academic success, making your support urgently needed.

Join Us

This Give 8/28, invest in student parents. Your gift powers direct support, advocacy, and research that ensure no parent has to choose between their education and their children.

When you give to Generation Hope, you partner with us in decreasing poverty one family at a time, investing in education, and making a long-lasting impact on families.  Your gift will touch the lives of a Generation Hope Scholar and their child.
