Sustainable Schools International

Sustainable Schools International (SSI) empowers rural Cambodian youth through education and livelihood opportunities. In addition to traditional edudcation, students receive enrichment programming through hands-on, real world skill building curricula based on leadership, sustainable livelihoods and entrepreneurship and classes for English and STEM.

We envision a future where youth in Cambodia have the necessary skills to secure or create quality employment while simultaneously making a positive impact on their country. SSI's students and alumni are committed to community service and giving the gift of opportunity to future generations. To date, SSI has returned 10 educated alumni back to their rural home communities. Alumni are serving as teachers, nurses, and agricultural specialists. 

Teachers make it possible to continue promoting a culture of education, sowing the seeds of success early in life. Nurses in rural communities provide lacking yet necessary health services at all stages of life. And utilization of agricultural best practices increases crop yield and income generation without harming the environment. 

Utilizing a holistic model for youth empowerment and economic development, we work closely with communities.
