Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter

Support Swaner with 250 donations!  🎉

In 1993, Swaner Preserve was founded and has grown to permanently protect 1,200 acres of open space in Kimball Junction. Perhaps you've hiked or biked the 10 miles of the lower Glenwild trail system, driven by the Swaner barn, visited the EcoCenter, seen the valuable wetlands and streams, and observed wildlife that rely on this critical habitat.

In the past year, Swaner served over 4,000 youth through field trips, outreach programs, and summer camps. Over 17,000 locals and visitors were welcomed to the EcoCenter to learn about wetlands and tour visiting exhibits. We keep learning alive for all generations by providing community events, lectures, and guided nature walks.

If you share our love for environmental education, school field trips, wetland restoration, trails, fun exhibits, and open space, give today to help us reach our goal! 🌱

Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter

Where land is restored

Each year, Swaner Staff and volunteers spend thousands of hours on the preserve improving wetlands, researching fish populations, removing invasive plants, and more. Volunteers help us complete critical work that repairs land from livestock grazing back to wetland refuge. This work captures carbon, mitigates climate change, and restores wildlife habitat.

Youth discover nature

Kids love to be outside, and Swaner Educators create experiences for children to explore, discover, and learn outdoors. Swaner's summer camps, afterschool programs, and field trips learn on the preserve, get dirty, and form lifelong memories in nature. Campers graduate and return as teen camp counselors to share their knowledge with future generations.

And environmental knowledge grows

Swaner isn't just for kids and families. University professors give guest lectures about drought and wildfire, and adults learn about Park City's flora and fauna on guided walks and snowshoe tours. Swaner organizes Utah Master Naturalist classes across the state and partners with local organizations to share the wonders of nature through movement, art, science, food, and literature. The EcoCenter brings nationally acclaimed exhibits to Park City featuring sloths, bats, and more.

If you are passionate about these priorities, support Swaner with a gift today. Small or large – they’re all important! Your donation not only helps fund this work – but your gift *of any size* helps us win a place on the Live PC Give PC Leaderboard
