The Sylvia Thomas Center keeps the "forever" in forever families by providing adoptive and foster children and families the necessary tools and supports to enable them to bond and thrive. 

It is heartbreaking to consider the pain of children who are with their adoptive families, sometimes for years, then returned back to foster care. 

Equally heartbreaking is the pain of the adoptive parents, believing they had enough love to conquer all challenges, only to discover that the emotional, behavioral and sometimes physical problems the child faces require more than love alone. 

The Sylvia Thomas Center is committed to supporting families along their adoption journey to identify and manage threats to permanency.
