Tahoe Truckee COAD

A nonprofit organization

The COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster) develops and enhances partnerships to create a resilient Tahoe Truckee region that is prepared to respond and recover from disasters. This is accomplished through communication, cooperation, coordination, and collaboration with a variety of stakeholders including non-profit & faith-based organizations, government agencies, and the private sector. When we communicate and collaborate effectively during all phases of a disaster, we can increase resiliency in our communities.

The Tahoe Truckee COAD was able to support throughout the 2022-2023 Winter Storms by coordinating a sandbag assistance program, navigating avalanche survivors through Red Cross programs, and staying in close communication with our county Office of Emergency Services partners in order to disseminate timely, accurate information to our COAD agencies. We also continue to support residents who were affected by last year's winter storms throughout their recovery process.
