The best way to prevent a problem is to stop it from happening in the first place, right?  Well, saving animals is no different.  TAILS' focus on spaying and neutering is born out of the realization that stopping uncontrolled breeding of dogs and cats will, in fact, stop the flow of animals into shelters, onto the streets and being put to death simply because there aren't enough homes for them all. 

We are the only organization in Fairfield county whose focus is solely on spay/neutering and we host events and fundraisers to save more animals.  In addition to our work with great, local vets we also run monthly transports of 15+ shelter/lower income-owned cats and dogs to the low cost spay/neuter clinic in Waterbury.  To help offset the costs a few times a year we join together at events as TEAM TAILS - a group of animal loving walkers and runners who raise awareness and funds for spaying and neutering.  In September 2012 we're going to be attending Lightfoot Runners' Sam Elpern Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on the 15th and participate in the Bigelow Community Challenge (2 mile walk or 3.1/5K road race) on the 30th - both are fabulous and fun events!
