Take Paws Rescue

Take Paws Rescue is a volunteer-driven, foster-based nonprofit dedicated to saving dogs across New Orleans, Southeast Louisiana, and beyond.

Thanks to a dedicated community of fosters, adopters, and supporters, Take Paws Rescue has grown into the most active and high impact rescue organization in Louisiana.

Most of the dogs we rescue go into loving foster homes where they can heal, grow, and prepare for adoption. Others spend time at our facility, The Stray Cafe, where they meet potential adopters in a welcoming, real-life setting.

Every day, we step in for dogs with nowhere else to go — from owner surrenders to strays and overcrowded shelters.

And every day, we’re reminded just how great the need truly is.

Nearly 90% of the dogs entering our care require significant medical treatment, including full veterinary workups, spay or neuter surgery, and care for conditions like heartworm disease.

Every ONE of those dogs depends on DONATIONS to receive the care they need to survive and heal.

Your DONATION directly saves lives:
$35 — Flea & tick prevention
$100 — Basic vaccines
$200 — Spay/neuter
$800 — Dental procedure
$900 — Heartworm treatment
$1,500+ — Lifesaving surgery

Every DONATION helps us rescue the next dog in need — and gives them a real chance at a future they would not have otherwise.
