Yad Tamar, founded in 2009, provides advice and assistance to cancer patients, their families, and the professionals and volunteers who dedicate days and nights to their welfare.  Yad Tamar develops models of community support, drawing on existing infrastructure of family, friends and neighbors, giving them the tools and methods they need to lend a helping hand = HUG - Helping Understanding Giving.

Our programs include:

ü  A Hug for Recuperation - Helping the individual patient  deal with the disease

ü  A Hug for the Family - Helping the patient’s family deal with the disease

• A structured model to help the family organize itself during this time of crisis.
• Family retreats.
• The HUG app, to be used by the family.

ü  A Hug for the Community - Helping the patient’s community deal with local crises

• HUG workshops.
• The HUG app, to be used by the community.
• Empowering the staff members of oncology wards.

ü  A Hug for the Company - Helping the patient’s place of employment deal with the situation (for companies)

• Workshops for companies and corporations.
• The HUG app, to be used by the company.
• Cooperation with infrastructure organizations.
