The Tampa Repertory Theatre started in 2011 -- and we're now in our seventh season.  Along the way we've brought critically acclaimed productions to the Tampa area including our Tennessee Williams trilogy (A Streetcar Named Desire, The Glass Menagerie, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), regional or state premieres (Phoenix, Silent Sky, Flying, Gnit), classics (Alcestis, Hamlet), and more, among them the towering Eugene O'Neill play, The Iceman Cometh.

Our series of staged readings of new plays, Conversation Starters, co-produced with Creative Loafing, brings exciting new plays to the Tampa area.  These readings also provide actors and directors an opportunity to develop their craft and introduce themselves to our audience.

TampaRep believes in the experience of theatre -- that theatre is the place we go to see how we live our lives in meaningful (and sometimes not so meaningful) ways. We produce plays that deserve to be seen — classics, known and unknown, with a special emphasis on American works of the 20th and 21st centuries.  We create experiences in intimate spaces, experiences the audience completes.  We’re a courageous and feisty company that consistently produces theatre that is innovative, provocative, and classic.
