$2,000 Goal

The mission of Tangi Animal Friends is to promote companion animal welfare in Tangipahoa, Washington, St Helena, and Livingston Parishes through spay/neuter efforts, humane education, animal advocacy, pet food stability, microchipping, vaccines, and addition animal welfare programs.

Domestic pet overpopulation is rampant in Tangipahoa and neighboring parishes. Affordable spay and neuter services are vital to prevent unwanted litters to be surrendered/captured and more than likely euthanized at a shelter. We must continue educating the public on spay/neuter benefits. The demand is immense and affordable services almost non-existent. Tangi Animal Friends financially supported over 1,000 spay/neuter procedures in the past 18 months. We are a 100% volunteer group that raises funds through auctions, raffles, a fall cook-off, and especially donations.

Our focus is on supporting community Spay Days with local veterinary partners. We provide subsidies to residents who could otherwise not afford them (those receiving government assistance such as Medicaid, disability, college students with need-based financial aid, and veterans). Our Spay Day package includes a physical exam, the sterilization procedure, ear cleaning, nail trim, microchipping, and the Rabies vaccine for an affordable copay.
