About Teach 2 Reach

Teach 2 Reach Inc., which is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization establishes in 2011 that teaches cosmetology exploration and personal grooming techniques and serves members of the community throughout Genesee County who are interested in learning more about cosmetology and barbering. The overall intent of our programs are to help members of the community become more employable and create economic stability and growth within our community.

Our Focus

Teach 2 Reach focuses on promoting positive social stability among members within the community; such as, helping to build positive self-esteem, and positive behavior amongst youth and teens. We are located in the Flint/Burton, MI area

Our Programs

Our programs are high quality education programs that provide free basic cosmetology career exploration classes that are filled with fun positive learning for youth ages 12-18. Many of the programs are imbedded with a social element that promotes positive emotional stability, intertwined with learning a skill. Examples of our programs include

(1) Teen youth summer camp, which provides a safe haven for youth to learn a skill during the summer

(2) Positive youth initiative for young men ages 14-18 held on Dr. Martin Luther King Day each year, which encourages positive actions against violence among teen males

(3) Pizza teen talk and fashion accessory makeover for young ladies ages 12-18, which helps build positive self-esteem

(4) Beautiful Butterfly which is a class dedicated to the healing and recovery of women (over 18) who are victims of abuse.

Our Aim

The aim of these programs, are to provide a positive alternative to violence, and job loss, while helping to rebuild the economy through teaching individuals a learned skill and becoming more employable.

Donor Support

The need to keep this program going in our community requires everyone's support. Many people in the community are unable to afford the cost of education. Donations will provide the participants to have access to learning tools such as manikins, clippers, shears, capes, combs, brushes, styling tools, styling products, books, travel accomodations, a light snack, and other necessary supplies.

With your help, Teach 2 Reach would like continue providing quality education and skill based training to members of our community and continue to help our youth become future self-sufficient employable citizens with a positive economic impact on the community.
