About Teach STEM Africa

We Are Dedicated to Supporting STEM Education in Africa

Teach Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics Africa (Teach STEM Africa) is dedicated to supporting the educational outcomes for African students by providing instructional resources and professional development to their schools and teachers. During a trip to Ghana in June of 2022, our founder Dr. Kimberly West fell in love with the students and teachers she met and worked with. The students’ desire to learn and the teachers’ passion for providing engaging and high-quality instruction for their students was evident, yet there was minimal availability of instructional tools and resources.

Upon returning home, Dr. West founded Teach Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Africa Incorporated (Teach STEM Africa), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on supporting STEM education providing science, technological, engineering, and mathematical instructional resources, materials, equipment, and professional development to schools and teachers across Africa.

The Mission of Teach STEM Africa is to provide relevant, engaging, and high-quality science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) focused instructional materials, resources, and professional development to African teachers to support and enhance classroom instruction; thus, enriching student learning and improving educational outcomes for students.

The Vision of Teach STEM Africa is to increase African students' exposure to science, technology, engineering, and math by equipping their teachers with the instructional materials, resources, and training that will unlock access to endless possibilities and opportunities.
