Team Okanogan Animal Rescue

Team Okanogan Animal Rescue is a registered 501(C)3 non-profit organization. We rely on sponsorships and donations to save lives.

We were founded in 2022 to improve the lives of animals in Okanogan County. This county is the size of Connecticut, and has a population of around 40,000 people. It is a rural area with a substantial percentage of tribal land, large scale agriculture operations, and small towns. There are no publicly funded animal shelters, only a loose network of private rescues. In 2022, over 1,200 dogs and over 2,000 cats were served by the rescues working in this community

Team Okanogan is working with city officials, county commissioners, and the Colville Confederated Tribal Reservation to explore options for building a shelter to serve the animals of the community.  Expected uses include county animal control services, spay/neuter services, vaccination and microchip clinics, pet food distribution, pet rehoming and retention programs, and other animal related services. 

Our Mission: To promote the humane treatment of companion animals in Okanogan County through spay/neuter, sheltering, community engagement, and education.
