The SEED School of Miami

A nonprofit organization

DO YOU WANT TO SUPPORT A CAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND?!

The SEED School of Miami is Florida's only college-preparatory, public boarding school for South Florida students. It is open 24 hours a day, five days a week, and students return to their homes on weekends.

What Makes SEED Miami Different:

  1. SEED Miami was created for students who most need a 24-hour environment and recruits a diverse population of students, typically first-generation college bound, from South Florida’s most under-resourced communities.
  2. SEED Miami creates a safe and nurturing environment for its students and provides 3 healthy meals a day, housing in college-inspired dorms, on-site medical and mental health services, and impactful exposure opportunities.
  3. The school employs positive, adult role models, including 4 full-time licensed Mental Health Counselors, who can be accessed 24-hours a day.
  4. SEED Miami is committed to college success. Our alumni are supported (beginning in 12th grade and continuing throughout their college careers) by the College Transition & Success program, a targeted and proven model that includes a unique college matching process.

SEED Miami Successes:

100% of SEED Miami Graduates have been accepted into 2- or 4-year collegiate programs. Thanks to the unique SEED Model, SEED Network graduates are out-performing their peers. SEED graduates are 4x more likely to graduate from college than a child with a similar demographic. In fact, when compared to national averages, SEED Network graduates have higher rates of:

  1. High School Graduation (90% vs. 86%)
  2. College Enrollment (98% vs. 40%)
  3. College Graduation (48% vs. 34%)

What are some examples of how my donation will help SEED Miami?

1. You will help us expand exposure opportunities for our SEED scholars by helping us with expenses, such as transportation;

2. You will help us enhance our college readiness programming - on and off campus;

3. You will help us increase the instructional materials that are available to our teachers and student life counselors;

4. You will help us stock our SEED store, which is used to incentivize our scholars for demonstrating effective social skills;

5. You will help us with campus renovations, so that our scholars can have more areas on campus to learn and socialize.
