TechFire Robotics of York is a 501(c)(3) organization that currently sponsors two competitive robotics teams based in York, PA. These community based teams are comprised of 43 students drawing from 13 area high schools. TechFire’s two premiere teams, TechFire 225 and TechSpark 10333, compete with over 13,000 teams worldwide through the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics organization. TechFire 225 and TechSpark 10333 compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) levels respectively.

Our mission is to educate and inspire the next generation of innovators through participation in the FIRST Robotics Competition program. Guided by a group of devoted mentors and parents, TechFire is helping the York area become a center for the development of creative problem solvers who will make the world a better place.

FIRST is not just about robots. It's about finding a way to make a positive difference, whether it be as an engineer, programmer, artist, writer, etc. Service along with opportunities for hands-on, real-world learning which occur naturally during the process of building a competition robot, is what FIRST is about. Creativity, Collaboration, and Character are key take-aways and are the qualities that will empower students to build a brighter future.

TechFire operates as a non-profit relying on sponsors to fund our $35k+ annual budget. Students experience real life problem solving, project management and teamwork through these programs. Highly recognized within the FIRST community, TechFire 225 has been successful at the World Championship level for the last five years.
