Tectonic supports readings, workshops, and full theatrical productions, as well as training for students around the country in our MOMENT WORK play-making techniques.Groundbreaking plays include,The Laramie Project, Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, I Am My Own Wife, and 33 Variations. Each hassparked a national discourse about their subjects, and has inspired artists and audiences worldwide.  

Over the past fifteen years, the Tectonic Theater Project has developed and refined a unique methodology, creating some of the most theatrically thrilling and important American theater of the past decade.   At the core of the creative process at Tectonic is MOMENT WORK.

Using a laboratory setting, MOMENT WORK breaks apart the traditional roles of theater artists, enfranchising all disciplines to move out of their defined roles and become theater-makers:  true investigators of the possibilities of the medium. Thus, actors and designers became writers and dramaturges, directors became designers and actors, and the company uncovers a new way of creating a theatrical event.
