Teddys Star-A Foundation for Hope

For over fifteen years, the Teddy’s Star Foundation has made it possible for people with severe disabilities not only to expand their own lives, but also to contribute to the development of the lives of us all via the benefits of Assistive Technology.

In July 2015, we received substantial new funding to expand our foundation’s mission: “To provide, at no cost to the recipient, Assistive Technology and rehabilitative support to persons who need it, but cannot afford it." With these funds, we will continue our efforts in providing Assistive Technology to those in need and begin the development of new initiatives in rehabilitative support services with a primary focus on serving our Veteran community.

We strive to achieve our mission by focusing on the following three distinct areas of hope and healing:

Teddy’s Star Fund

Initiatives under this banner are designed to help individuals with spinal chord injuries to be mobile or to perform such basic tasks as talking on the phone, turning on the lights, or adjusting and changing channels on a TV set. Our latest completed project has been to provide an automated chair lift apparatus for a van for a disabled person and his family. Our current effort is to provide mobility solutions for two small children with severe disabilities (See our Fundraiser).

Blake’s Star Fund

Our Donors are concerned about the ever-growing problems of drug and alcohol addiction that is sweeping our nation, ravaging our youth, and straining our families and communities to the limit. We are currently developing programs to assist individuals and families in need of recovery and rehabilitative support services, but who cannot afford them. We will soon be announcing our program sponsors and partners, so stay tuned!

Veterans’ Star Fund

Our Donors wish to provide assistance for returning veterans that suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We have currently been funded to develop a number of programs to provide at no cost easy access to the latest advances in stress reduction techniques. Programs under development will assist veterans and their families to reduce suffering and set the stage for positive personal transformations and more effective responses to the unavoidable difficulties in life.

A Sense of Urgency

The team at Teddy’s Star Foundation has set an aggressive goal of $600,000 for the annual period ending in June, 2016. We are more than half way to achieving this goal, but time is running out for tax-deductible contributions for the current tax year. There is also a sense of urgency because we have arranged a group of donors that have committed to match our fundraising efforts for the balance of the year to provide funding for programs in 2016.
