Not every student plays in the school band, is an athlete or cheerleader, or is in the honor society. Every young person, however, has an opinion, a perspective or a point of view.

Telluride TV is partnering with the Wilkinson Public Library and the Telluride High School for a community program called Director's Club. Students are taught how to use digital video cameras to capture the imagery they see. They also learn video editing with software that allows them to rearrange video clips, add text and still photos, and add their own music to create THEIR stories.

And their stories are powerful. In 2011, we saw young people's stories of their impressions of daily life, their outlook on their challenges, and their perceptions of "self". These are stories that maybe the teacher doesn't see, or that a parent doesn't hear. This program gives a safe outlet for young people's self expression that can be private, or shared publicly.

Please Help.

As we grow into a true Community Media Center, we are faced with replacing older equipment that is becoming unreliable.

Our goal for participating in Telluride Gives is to raise money for new video cameras and microphones to be used by students in Director's Club and other educational programs.

Your donations will help a young person to express himself or herself with their own message, one that they can take pride in sharing to the world, as they feel empowered with new media skills in this new media world.

Thank you.
