A visionary dream of Founder, Debbie Johnson, a native of Nigeria, who found herself homeless several months after arriving in the United States to help family members. Due to her experiences with homelessness, Ms. Johnson believes there is a definite need for a program that not only assists homeless women to rise above their traumatic experiences, but builds self-sufficiency in obtaining and retaining housing, sustainability and determination by teaching the women marketable employable skills after 12 months of training and assist with them obtaining employment or resources for self-employment 3 months after graduation.
The program serves Bernalillo, Sandoval and Valencia counties in New Mexico. It is offered free to women who qualify, and at cost for others who are interested in learning and helping.
Our women come from a variety of cultures and ethnicities, range in age from 24-59, and come to us from backgrounds from abuse, drug addiction, and other life traumas and tragedies. We know that it takes the security of a stable, supportive environment to rebuild a life, and aim to provide that over the course of our 12-month curriculum.
