Tennessee Humane Animal League

We are a small non-profit and no-kill dog and cat shelter in the Chattanooga area. We provide spay/neuter and all vetting for our animals prior to adoption as well as education and resources for adopters to continue proper care of their new family members. We take in and adopt out over 300 animals per year. We receive no government funding and rely solely on the support of our donors and fundraising events.

One outstanding feature of Pet Placement Center is our Special Needs Program. Through the kind and caring donations of our community, we are able to help those who need our help the most. This fund allows us to help treat a myriad of conditions including Parvo Disease, Heartworm Disease, Orthopedic Injuries, Amputation Surgeries, as well as aid in common elderly issues like Congestive Heart Failure, Kidney Failure, or Seizures. This fund also provides a helping hand to the multitudes of sick and abandoned kittens we take in during kitten season. 

Currently, we have dogs rescued from an animal cruelty and abandonment case in Heard County, GA; dogs from a hoarding case in Polk County, a dog that was thrown from a car, cats with chemical burns, healing wounds, skin conditions, kidney disease, and a kitten with a heart murmur. The kinds of animals we help is forever changing but the need is always there and we are so grateful to be a part of their journey to a healthy and happy life.
