Pepin Academies..where belonging leads to learning

Pepin Academies first opened in 1999 in East Tampa to fill a need for students with learning disabilities.  These students simply do not learn well in the traditional classroom setting and need additional services not readily available.  Over the years, as Pepin Academies grew, two additional campuses were added in Riverview and Pasco. Pepin Academies Riverview campus was opened in 2013. Between the Tampa campus and the Riverview campus, Pepin Academies serves more than 700 students.

Because of their learning and learning-related disabilities, our students may need to pace in circles in class or keep their hands busy with an activity so their mind can focus on the lesson.  Some of our students have sensory issues and need a place to go to calm down when they are beginning to overload.  Other students have auditory processing disabilities and need to wear special headsets to block out all other sound but the teacher.  

Because of this, our students are often left out, isolated or worse, bullied for being different.  At Pepin Academies, from the moment they walk through the doors, they are among peers.  They are in a safe and nurturing environment that celebrates their gifts and skills.  At Pepin Academies, belonging leads to learning.

Pepin Academies teachers are ESE certified and approximately 80% of our students graduate with a standard diploma.  Pepin Academies also offers a Transitional Program for students 18-22 to teach them work and life skills and partners with many companies throughout Tampa Bay for internship opportunities.  Pepin Academies offers students a rigorous academic program but also provides social and athletic opportunities as well.
