Addiction Prevention Coalition

The Addiction Coalition, commonly referred to as APC and previously named The Freedom Source, is a local non-profit that has been providing support to the greater Birmingham community for over a decade through in-school prevention programs, educational events, and a collection of support services. 

Our vision is to be a leader in preventing addiction by inspiring people to live with hope, resilience, and purpose. Our mission is to show that substance abuse is a deadly epidemic, lessen the shame and hopelessness of those who are struggling, and provide education and connection to enable people to find or maintain wholeness, safety, and sobriety. And lastly, our purpose can be communicated through three statements. Communicate awareness of the ADDICTION problem and inspire hope. Provide education for the PREVENTION of substance abuse. Assist those seeking CONNECTION by creating a Coalition in the community.
