How many people can look back on their middle school years without cringing?

Thoreau students can. That’s because Thoreau’s teachers and staff know how to engage our kids and make them active participants in learning. Teachers build students’ confidence and give them a strong foundation for years to come.

Thoreau is undergoing a multi-year renovation to accommodate a rapidly growing student body. Thoreau is being transformed from a traditional school into a dynamic, flexible learning center that serves as a model to other schools.  

Twenty-five new classrooms opened this fall, and old classrooms will be renovated in time for the 2016-17 school year. We have a golden opportunity to help furnish those classrooms with the latest technology and versatile, ergonomic furniture proven to aid in classroom participation and learning. Plans are also underway to give Thoreau a college campus feel by paving walkways through a large new courtyard that will result from the new construction. These walkways will enable students to get outside as they cross the building between classes.

Together, we can build tomorrow’s Thoreau. Our 2015 goal is to raise $125 per student.
