At the core of our belief, is a deep appreciation of our state’s natural areas and its wildlife. Our vision is to serve as a portal to nature for the state’s residents, and to engage them in our efforts to make our state a paradigm of environmental awareness and sustainability for the nation.

 

Leveraging the charismatic nature of birds, we use our nature centers, education programs, weekend walks and workshops, and advocacy campaigns to connect and engage the state’s children, families, and residents with the natural world around them. Our goal is for every child in the state to come to appreciate nature and the outdoors, especially as for their insights into science, as tangible values to humanity, and their inherent health and intellectual benefits.
