The Education Foundation for Joint School District 2 Inc

The Education Foundation of the West Ada School District is entering its 29th year of operations. At its inception, a group of dedicated and passionate volunteers believed that more could be done to support creative and innovative programs in the West Ada School District. They believed that teachers and students deserved to have a wider range of options in their educational experience in order to enhance learning. Today our mission is still to provide supplemental funding and support for educational programs and projects in classroom innovation for the benefits of students in the West Ada School District.

Giving Tuesday proceeds will be used to provide money to classrooms for innovative ideas.  Some of these funds will also be used to raise money for student basic needs.  We will help nurses and counselors with needs they see students need.

The main approach that the early board took to making
this opportunity into a reality was to create a grants program for our teachers. The grants would be awarded to those teachers who could demonstrate innovation and creativity in their programs. Each year, teachers started to submit ideas to facilitate new learning channels for their students and each year the Foundation did its best to support as many of these programs as it could. Every year since, $25,000-$50,000 in grants are given to West Ada teachers!

The Foundation also helps students in need. We provide help for homeless students, food for students in need and basics like clothing.  We are here to help with supplemental funding for programs and needs the regular school funding does not do.
