The Feminist Uprising is a dynamic force committed to catalyzing change and fostering a more just and equitable world. As a new and impassioned intersectional feminist non-profit organization, we are dedicated to advancing our mission through advocacy, education, and staying actively involved with community.

At The F.U., we believe in the power of collective action to dismantle systemic barriers and create a society that champions equality for all. Our initiatives focus on key pillars: advocating for the Equal Rights Amendment, promoting gender equality, and shaping a more inclusive narrative by highlighting the vital voices of those in marginalized communities.

It is crucial that we recognize that gender equality is a nonpartisan issue and that we collectively strive for a future where equality is not merely an ideal but a lived reality for all.

All donations will go toward our upcoming and future projects, in addition to helping us with some of the administrative costs of our non-profit.

We are deeply grateful for every donation. Thank you for your support.

Some of our current projects include:

Project:Sentinel

Overview: A 11 day historical mission to see the Equal Rights Amendment take its rightful place as the 28th Amendment in the Constitution. A new wave of Sentinels will stand at the White House fence from 8am to 5pm, (in shifts), seven days a week from September 20th to September 30th, before the next Presidential Election.

Goal: To advocate and educate the public on the status of the ERA and to secure the formal inclusion of the 28th Amendment (Equal Rights) in the U.S. Constitution enshrining gender equality for all.

  • The 28th amendment enshrines equality, regardless of sex, as a fundamental and unalterable principle under the law, in the U.S. Constitution.
  • Judges would be obligated to apply the utmost scrutiny in cases involving sex discrimination; increasing the odds of winning your case from under 50% to nearly 75%.
  • Existing gender equity laws would be safeguarded and revitalized. The ERA provides a solid legal foundation for equality instead of the bed of sand our existing laws rest on today.
  • The American Bar Association recently affirmed that the ERA is valid and should be implemented immediately!

For a century women and their allies have been battling for what many people today mistakenly assume we have. Through our efforts, we will raise enough awareness about the absence of gender equality in the U.S. Constitution and the current status of the 28th Amendment to garner support for leaders demanding the official recognition of the rights we have already won.

"Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex."

Feminist Cafe Series

Overview: The establishment of pop-up feminist cafes, providing inclusive spaces for open dialogues, panels, Q&A sessions, workshops and town hall meetings. These cafes will serve as dynamic forums to discuss an extensive range of feminist topics, fostering understanding, advocacy, and community building. Here are just a few of the topics we plan to discuss in upcoming cafes: Communicating Intersectionality, Living with Disabilities in an Ableist World, Prioritizing Queer and Trans Health & Wellness, Environmental Intersectionality, Discussing Mental Health and so much more.

Goals:

  • Host inclusive and intersectional conversations on a variety of feminist subjects to address the multifaceted dimensions of gender equality and social justice.
  • Create an accessible platform for community members to engage with experts, activists, and each other in meaningful dialogues.
  • Raise awareness about various feminist issues and provide educational resources to attendees, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by different communities.
  • Encourage participants to turn discussions into actionable initiatives, supporting and advocating for feminist causes on local, national, and global scales.

We have already held one cafe, with the support of The Port of Long Beach, and it was such an incredible experience. Our goal is to continue to create dynamic and engaging conversations that empower us as individuals and as a community.

Annual Long Beach Women's Fair & Fierce Women Awards
