The Friendly Kitchen

Concord’s only soup kitchen, The Friendly Kitchen, has been a staple in the city for 45 years, feeding those less fortunate. We help connect people through food and service, all in a warm and dignified atmosphere.

Without our volunteers, there is no Friendly Kitchen.

We have an estimated 325 volunteers who rotate every month. Last year, they donated 13,665 hours and provided 85,000 meals in our dining room and through the Family Friendly Meals program. We are grateful for their time and their boundless positive energy.

More than a soup kitchen, we battle food insecurity across our community

We serve warm, nutritious meals to anyone in need, no questions asked. For 45  years, people have come through our doors and received the same friendly service. In 2021, we expanded services by creating the Family Friendly Meals Program. Our volunteers prepare full meals and distribute them to families and seniors across our community. With the help of our community partners, these meals are delivered in a dignified and convenient manner. The goal is to ensure that anyone grappling with hunger in Concord can receive our help.
