The Gatherings

The Gatherings mission is to foster community through sharing, cooperation, learning and the arts.  

Thanks to over 100 local families and businesses, our community is happier and healthier than it was a year ago.  Marge may technically be retired but now she is leading a monthly book group, setting up a lending library and coordinating our café.  Pat is serving coffee in one of the rooms she helped paint.  Tom is stopping by after work once a week to chat in Spanish with everyone from beginners to native speakers.   Becka is coming from Franklin Sunday mornings with her young children to explore religion, spirituality and ethics with others.  Vanessa is providing baked goods and activities for children.

Caring members of this community enriched the lives of dozens of our neighbors by supporting The Gatherings, allowing us to purchase the property at the end of October.  Over one hundred people turned out to celebrate on Memorial Day 2016 when the ground floor was opened to the public.  And activities have been happening ever since.

Many of us don’t have a big party room or even a nice place to have coffee and play cards with friends.  Few of us have a home theater system where we can relax with others to watch a movie, the Olympics or a presidential debate.  O.K., so maybe that last one won’t be so relaxing, but the point is that now everyone in our community can have a party room with a home theater, and it will be at The Gatherings if you help.

While many have been enjoying the property already, we can still do much more with your support.
