BE A HERO & HELP SEND A KID TO CAMP

The best things in life are often made during summer camp at the Y – skills, confidence, friendships, memories, and so much more. We believe that every kid deserves opportunity, regardless of financial status. We need your help to send a kid to camp so they can stay active and reach their full potential during the summer months.

The donation window is only for 24 hours, 5:00 pm on June 10 – 5:00 pm on June 11. Your donation, no matter how big or small, helps us get closer to sending a kid to camp.

Thank you for being a kid's hero and giving them an amazing camp experience this summer!

Who We Are

The Granite YMCA creates a community where all are welcome. The Y builds a healthy spirit, mind and body in children, individuals, and families while instilling the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility through our practices and programs.

The Granite YMCA is the largest Y in northern New England, with six branches: YMCA of Downtown Manchester, YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown, YMCA of Greater Londonderry, YMCA of Strafford County in Rochester, YMCA of the Seacoast, and YMCA Camping Services resident camps in Strafford and Alton. The YMCA’s facilities and programs include aquatics, aerobics, cardiovascular and nautilus equipment, free weights, basketball, full-sized gyms, gymnastics and dance, outdoor recreation centers, and a variety of fitness classes; also preschool and school-age child care, teen centers, summer day and resident camps, and adventure programs. We offer over 750 programs and classes during each of the seven program sessions. Additionally, we are active in the area of community outreach, providing both traditional and non-traditional kinds of programming. Examples of our traditional programming include offering free water safety classes for all 4th graders in Manchester. Non-traditional programming includes STRIVE, our truancy alternative program for youth who have been suspended or expelled from Manchester schools; and our Support, Tutoring and Adventures for Youth (STAY) program, located in Manchester’s four middle schools, which focuses on keeping at-risk youth in school and succeeding; community based preschool programs; as well as our START program for low income elementary school children who need after school care and tutoring. We also provide free memberships to over 80 nonprofit agencies so they may serve their clients in need.
Currently, the YMCA has over 35,000 members from 32 different communities. The YMCA provides care before, during and after school for 1,600 children at 22 sites each day. Y Teen Services serve 900 at-risk youth each year. Additionally, we serve over 2,000 youngsters each day in some thirty summer camp programs. In order to provide this vast array of services, the YMCA now employees 435 full and part time staff members, a number that increases to over 600 in the summer months. Healthy Living focused on the family unit includes programs addressing youth obesity, type 2 diabetes and helping cancer survivors regain their strength. Finally, there are more than 1,400 volunteers who provide year round program support for the organization. In FY 2015, the Granite YMCA provided $1.55 million in financial aid, scholarships and grants to 19,488 disadvantaged youth and families.
