Currently, 42% of Blaine County students qualify for a free or reduced meal during the school year. The Hunger Coalition and Blaine County School District established The Summer Food Program recognizing that these children probably would not receive enough nutrition during the summer vacation.

The 2015 Summer Food Program served 4,533 free breakfasts and lunchees to local children in need. This was done with the generous help of communtiy volunteers. A record 87 kids were served in one day!

In its second year, â€śLunch in the Park” provided kids with a free and nutritious sack lunch at the playfield at Balmoral Park.

Also implemented for a second year, was the â€śDaily Bites” program where kids received healthy snacks daily during summer camp. In 2015, Daily Bites served 3,419 snacks to hungry Blaine County kids at summer camp. Nearly 350 kids were fed last summer!

By donating to this campaign, you can help ensure no child goes hungry this summer.
