Dani Cota - former patient, new Angel Dog volunteer:

Seizures on her 17th birthday sent Dani Cota to the hospital where she suffered a stroke. She couldn't walk, her left side was damaged by the stroke, and she barely talked. Dani spent her summer vacation recovering at Madonna: physical, occupational, speech and aqua therapy. The hard work paid off.

In the fall, Dani returned to the field with the Lincoln North Star High School color guard team. The high school senior was elected homecoming queen and she graduated with her class. "I am just so thankful for Madonna. I would not be feeling like my old self if it wasn't for everyone there!"

Today, Dani is studying at Southeast Community College in Lincoln for a career in healthcare. She is giving back to Madonna as a registered Angel Dog volunteer with her labradoodle, Luna, to help other patients in their recoveries.
