Homelessness strips people down to a point of mere survival. While there are agencies set up to provide overnight shelter, food and other necessities there becomes a gap in giving the homeless a safe place to truly feel like they belong. the Panhandle Adult Rebuilding Center was created to address this problem.

Our co-founders, Valerie Gooch and Robert Lee saw the gap. They saw human beings desperate for simple things like eye contact and conversation. They understood that the key to breaking the cycle of homelessness is finding true identity and purpose. And so, the PARC was founded to provide a safe, clean place during the day where those experiencing homelessness could be called by name, find themselves again, and pursue life’s possibilities.

Since the PARC opened only eleven years ago, hundreds have come through our doors and moved on to their “next” because of our foundation of acceptance and hope.

The demand for our services has begun to exceed our current capacity. On average, the PARC serves 158 unique individuals a month, or about 45 individuals a day. We sere 1200 individuals a year normally, but this year we are close to 1500! This means we are currently only able to serve about 20.4% of the homeless population. We plan to double that capacity but need your help financially to expand! Please consider giving generously through Panhandle Gives so as to amplify your gift and amplify our reach in the community.

This year during the Panhandle Gives Campaign, the PARC has exciting news! We have officially completed construction on our new building!! This year our goal is directly related to paying off the remainder of what we owe on our new building with current construction inflation increases!
