Our mission: To enhance the quality of life in Southwest Washington by providing symphonic music of the highest caliber in live performances through music education in schools, concert halls and throughout the community.

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra co-presented and was the featured performance of the 2023 Vancouver USA Arts & Music Festival,
held in Esther Short Park and surrounding areas in downtown Vancouver, WA.

In 1972 a small group of dedicated local musicians met to perform pieces they loved. This group evolved into the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the largest performing arts organization in Southwest Washington.

The VSO presents more than forty highly anticipated events annually, including classical symphonic and chamber concerts, a silent film series, educational performances in Vancouver-area schools and senior living communities, and co-partners with the City of Vancouver to present the annual Vancouver USA Arts & Music Festival.

Maestro Salvador Brotons, now in his 33rd season as conductor and music director of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

Due to its rapid artistic development, the VSO has made tremendous growth in becoming one of the Northwest’s premiere performing arts organizations. With its growing reputation of artistic excellence and acclaimed stature of its music director, Maestro Salvador Brotons, the VSO has attracted some of the world’s most sought-after soloists and conductors including Thomas Lauderdale, Vladimir Feltsman, Orli Shaham, Elmar Oliveira, Anne Akiko Meyers and more to perform with the orchestra.

In addition to providing world-renowned symphonic, chamber, pops, and jazz concerts with internationally acclaimed guest artists, the VSO has become an educational cornerstone of the community. The VSO presents annual educational concerts for students in Vancouver-area schools and ensemble performances at area senior living communities. As a citizen of Clark County and one of its main educational institutions, it is paramount for the VSO to inspire children and families to move towards a path of knowledge and education. The VSO has a unique opportunity to lead significant social change through community-building music education programs. These cultural outreach initiatives are not simply a luxury but play a fundamental role in enhancing the community.

We thank our generous donors for continuing the legacy of music in our community.
